At London & Middlesex Community Housing, we believe that housing is the foundation of a better tomorrow. LMCH provides 3,258 housing units across 32 properties for more than 5,000 people. Those who call LMCH home are a diverse cross-section of low to moderate-income households including families, seniors, adults, and new Canadians.
LMCH traces its roots to the London & Middlesex Housing Authority and has been providing affordable housing for more than 50 years. In 2001, London & Middlesex Housing Corporation was created when the management of community housing transferred from the Province of Ontario to the City of London. The City of London is the organization’s sole shareholder. LMCH operates under the 2011 Housing Services Act, the Shareholder’s Agreement with the City of London, and the Ontario Business Corporation Act. In 2018 LMCH rebranded as they are known today: London & Middlesex Community Housing. Since 2018, we have been known as London & Middlesex Community Housing.
We are committed to providing people in the community with safe and affordable housing. We hope we can help make a difference in people's lives by providing them with a safe place to call home.
Our tenants come from many different backgrounds and are diverse in age, education, language, mental and physical abilities, religion, ethnicity, and race.
Our Impact
In 2023, LMCH impact included:
- 377 new tenancies
- 98% eviction prevention rate
- Refreshed and restored 404 units
- Completed 15 Accessible Unit Upgrades
- Restored 252 Balconies
- Completed 10 Paving Projects for Improved Mobility
- Replaced 1,700 Windows and Doors
- Modernized Elevators at 2 Properties
- Upgraded Exteriors at 5 Properties
