- Accessible Homes and Unit Modifications
LMCH is committed to accessible housing.
Building Accessibility
- All new construction meets or exceeds Ontario Building Code accessibility standards.
- Accessibility features are considered during major repairs and capital upgrades.
Requesting Unit Modifications (Medical)
Tenants may request modifications to their unit if they have documented medical or accessibility needs.
Examples may include:
- Grab bars
- Ramps
- Doorway adjustments
- Other safety or mobility-related changes
Requests must be supported by a health care professional.

Depending on the required modifications and the design of the building, it may not always be possible to complete modifications within a tenant’s current unit. In some cases, relocation within the LMCH portfolio or to another suitable unit may be required.
An LMCH advisor will contact you after reviewing your request.
A detailed step-by-step process will be added as LMCH’s Accessibility Committee finalizes updated procedures.
- Employment Accessibility
LMCH supports accessible and inclusive employment practices.
We:
- Offer accommodations throughout the recruitment process
- Provide individualized workplace accommodations
- Develop individualized emergency response information where required
- Provide accessibility and Human Rights training to staff
